The Apothecary's Debt

About the book

Some bargains never expire. Mina Vale has always had demons in her life. Some steal socks. One likes pizza, old films, and having his neck scratched. She has never thought much of it. She is a witch, an apothecary, and perfectly capable of minding her own business. Cambridge is not. The city's magical circles have gone to war, demons are being summoned as weapons, and an infernal lord has taken a very personal interest in keeping Mina's brother alive. There is a reason for that. Before Mina was born, her parents made a bargain. Balduin's success was guaranteed. Mina was the price. If Mina ever wants to be free, she will have to learn exactly how demons think. The trouble is, she may already be rather good at it.
