IndieFiction exists to help authors not just publish their books, but be found, supported not only while publishing, but long after their book goes live.
What IndieFiction is
IndieFiction is a free catalogue of independently published books. Authors list their finished books here, each with its own page, and readers browse by genre, by mood and trope or through hand-picked reading lists, without an algorithm deciding what surfaces. Listing is free, browsing is free, and we never take a cut of anyone's sales.
There is plenty to read right now: free short stories published in full on the site. If you'd rather be surprised, let Blind Date with a Book pick for you, or test yourself on the book quiz. The weekly Shout-Out brings new books to your inbox.
For authors there are practical guides on writing, editing, publishing and marketing, and an open question board where authors answer each other. You can submit a book or claim one already listed, build a public author profile, and publish short stories readers can enjoy for free.
The paid plans are optional, and everything else stays free.
Why IndieFiction exists
IndieFiction was started by Abhishek Aggarwal, an independent author who published his own book, Me for Myself.
He learned the hard way that writing the book is only half the journey. The real challenge began after publication: formatting, platforms, promotion, and above all, visibility. The landscape was scattered with expensive services and confusing advice.
So he built the place he wished he'd had: one that helps indie authors get discovered, with honest guidance and no gatekeeping.
