About the book
Ever get that feeling? You know the one. Everything looks normal. Nothing seems out of place. But somewhere deep in your gut, something is telling you that things are terribly, terribly wrong. Now imagine getting that feeling in a place where nothing is supposed to be real. Nate Carter is the first person to test a virtual prison. Everything inside is supposed to be controlled by AI. Time moves differently in there. A few hours out here could mean years inside. But when the test is over, Nate simply opens his eyes and walks away. At least, that's the idea. Then someone appears inside the prison who was never programmed to be there. He knows Nate's name. He knows things he shouldn't. And nobody can explain where he came from. When Nate wakes up, he should be relieved. Instead, he can't shake the suspicion that whatever went wrong in there isn't finished with him. And here's the thing about that feeling. Sometimes you're wrong. Sometimes it's just a coat rack in the corner. But sometimes... Sometimes you've opened a door and actually let the boogeyman in.
