The promise became Skyler and Sawyer. Like every work of fiction, these characters have lives entirely their own. Yet hidden within their journey is a quiet piece of my own heart. A belief that no matter how dark the road becomes, there is always another choice waiting to be made. To forgive. To trust. To hope. To stay. To love. Again. And again. People often imagine that stories are written because authors have all the answers. I have found the opposite to be true. Stories are where I ask my questions. Where I wrestle with hope. Where I search for grace. Where I remind myself of the person I want to become. Perhaps that is why Love Blind feels so personal. Not because every event reflects my life. But because every page reflects what I believe. That loyalty is chosen. That forgiveness is chosen. That hope is chosen. That love is chosen. If readers close this series remembering the magic, then I will be grateful. If they remember the adventure, I will be honoured. But if they close the final page, look at the person beside them, and quietly choose them once more... Then these books will have fulfilled the purpose for which they were written. Because that has always been my hope. Not simply to tell a story. But to remind people that the greatest love stories are not those where two people find each other. They are the ones where they never stop choosing each other.

I’m Carly, an indie fantasy author from California! Important things to know about me include: I write books, I love cats, and I grow plants! I’m a horticulturist by trade and that’s my excuse for having an absurd number of houseplants. My completed adventure fantasy series, the Sky Queen Trilogy, is (so far) my proudest accomplishment: it is the result of loving fantasy books since I was a tiny little kid, plus 10 years of doing the hard work of writing, editing, and publishing. But I've reached that point in my life when I just do not care about certain kinds of BS anymore. Yes, I wash dishes. I do a lot of my pre-writing while washing dishes. I have a BA in Environmental Leadership and an MS in Conservation Biology. I use both to write lots of things, but mostly fiction. I have a husband who can sail a boat, drive an ambulance, and make a mean white pizza. We have two beagle-mixes and three cats, one of whom has a total of 21 toes. I used to have a cat who would fall asleep beside my keyboard with her nose on the letter, Q. I miss her.

Though they tend to focus on heavier topics, you can expect levity at just the right moment.
