The Lies Love Hides - The Poems

by Molly George

About the book

The Lies Love Hides is a raw and unflinching collection of poems born from lived experience. Through intimate, evocative language, it explores the hidden realities of abuse—emotional, psychological, sexual, and relational—often disguised as love. Each poem peels back a layer of silence, exposing manipulation, gaslighting, control, abandonment, and the quiet endurance of those who stay, survive, and protect others at their own expense. These are not imagined stories, but truths carried in the body and spoken at last. This book is not about bitterness or blame. It is about clarity. About naming what was never safe to name. About reclaiming voice, identity, and self-worth after trauma. Moving gently from pain to awareness, and from awareness to rebirth, The Lies Love Hides offers recognition to survivors who have felt unseen, validation to those who questioned their reality, and hope to anyone learning that healing does not mean forgetting, but remembering with strength. Written with compassion and care, this lived, trauma-informed collection holds space for healing while honouring survival. This is poetry for those who loved deeply, lost themselves quietly, and are now finding their way home.
