Catalina's Corazón
About the book
Dr. Catalina Sánchez is accustomed to helping others navigate difficult emotions. But when her father’s dementia calls her back to her family home in Cuencamé, Mexico, she must confront her own questions about grief, cultural identity, responsibility, and where she truly belongs. Randy Plott—a tenderhearted blacksmith disguised as an infuriatingly funny one—has spent years circling Catalina through friendship, teasing, and almost-romance. When he follows her to Mexico, determined to support rather than rescue her, their long-simmering connection finally has room to grow. Set between Mexico, Miami, and the Appalachian town of Glen Hollows, Catalina’s Corazón is a slow-burn romance about family, anticipatory grief, found community, and the many meanings of home. Rich with food, gardens, Mexican traditions, music, and hibiscus symbolism, it blends ache, humor, hope, and a deeply caring love story. Although it is Book Three in the Remedies of the Heart series, it can be read as a standalone.

About the author
Christina Gonzalez writes emotionally rich, culturally rooted fiction about grief, healing, family, and the surprising places love takes root. Her *Remedies of the Heart* series blends slow-burn romance and women’s fiction with herbs, gardens, food traditions, found family, and just enough humor to keep the heartbreak from having the last word. Born in Okinawa and shaped by years spent living in Mexico, Japan, Germany, Italy, and across the United States, Christina has long been fascinated by the ways people carry home, heritage, and memory with them. Her more than twenty years as a psychotherapist also inform the emotional honesty of her characters—complicated people who do not heal overnight or through romance alone, but through connection, courage, nature, and the occasional well-timed cup of tea. Christina now lives in Southwest Florida, where she writes, practices psychotherapy, studies herbalism, and attempts to transform her yard into a food forest. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found growing herbs, inventing recipes inspired by her characters, or explaining why adding a new plant to her garden is entirely justified.
