Bittersweet
About the book
A story of dark themes where toxic relationships, control, abuse and emotional trauma threaten to destroy the lives of three generations. Love and loss feature throughout. It takes hope to carry on. It takes resilience to survive. Set mainly on the Ards Peninsular in Northern Ireland, this is a novel with strong emotional arcs, and would appeal to book clubs, readers of women's fiction, historical fiction and Irish family sagas

About the author
Hi. I'm a retired teacher who came to the writing world late in life. It was never planned. It simply happened when I discovered a family secret from the the 1800s, but writing that first book propelled me into something I came to enjoy. When the stories continued to fill my head, I scrawled away and today am working on my seventh book. I've written in more than one genre, perhaps because that's just the way stories present themselves, so as well as that first historical fiction there is now a crime trilogy (two published - one b eing finished), a psychological drama and a literary fiction about three generations of one family. Writing has become the avenue that keeps me going while the next decade relentlessly approaches. As a self published author, I don't sell many books - it certainly isn't a reliable source of income, but when my work is read, it receives positive feedback, and that's all I ask. If you come across my novels and perhaps read them, I hope you enjoy them as much as I've enjoyed writing them. Sue
