A Study of Red
by Freyse
About the book
Anna Claire Santos came to Paros for a vacation. She did not expect to end up sharing a villa with an injured stranger who seemed equally surprised to find her there. Her unexpected housemate, Anton Luigi Li Fonti, is private, suspicious, and clearly hoping she will not ask too many questions. Anna Claire would happily oblige, if he were not also annoyingly observant, unexpectedly considerate, and increasingly difficult to ignore. What begins as a temporary arrangement soon turns into midnight drives, family interruptions, arguments that go nowhere, moments that mean far too much, and a series of choices that make their arrangement harder to call temporary. A Study of Red is a slow-burn romantic comedy set in Paros, Greece, with accidental housemates, dry humor, acts of service, family chaos, and two people who are much better at taking care of each other than admitting what any of it means.

About the author
I’m Freyse, a Filipino author who writes romance, fantasy, comedy, tragedy, and whatever strange story refuses to stay in one genre. I tend to like complicated people, dry humor, questionable decisions, and characters who make their own lives significantly harder than they need to. I’m especially drawn to stories where people are better at showing love through what they do than saying it out loud. A Study of Red is my debut novel and the first book in the Cities of Color series.
