The Winter I Met My Dad

About the book

Scarlet thought traveling back to 1996 to meet her mother as a teenager was the wildest secret her family held. But when Melissa finally shares the story she’s kept buried for decades, Scarlet begins to understand that the past can shape the present in ways she never imagined. From Staten Island block parties to the friendships that carried her through Val with her fierce loyalty, Jess with her boundless spirit, Melissa’s memories unfold into a portrait of first loves, heartbreak, and resilience. As Scarlet listens, she begins to see her mother and herself in a new light. Some stories are painful. Some are beautiful. And some change everything.
