Cheryl Burman originally hails from Australia but now lives in the Forest of Dean, UK where she is continually inspired by the trees. She is a multi-genre author of middle grade fantasy, best-selling historical women’s fiction, and historical fantasy. Her flash fiction, short stories, and whole or parts of her novels have won awards and several of her stories appear in various anthologies. A keen student of writing craft, Cheryl has had articles published on writing-related topics, and maintains a popular writing tips post on her blog. As Cheryl Mayo, she is a former chair of Dean Writers Circle and a founder of Dean Scribblers, which encourages creative writing among young people in her community.
