Alexander Rutherford began writing fiction as a freshman in high school after seeing a classmate writing her own novel and wondering why he couldn't do the same. His first attempt—fifteen handwritten pages—was lost, but the characters and story refused to leave him. He eventually started again, and what began as a teenage writing project grew into BFFs, the first installment of the Alex's Dreams trilogy. Rutherford writes character-driven stories about friendship, love, family, growing up and the unexpected consequences that follow people into adulthood. BFFs was followed by OMG!, with the trilogy's concluding installment, WTF?!, currently in development.
