About the author
E.M. Wallis is an independent British author who combines mystery, psychological suspense and the supernatural with stories rooted in real social issues. A former journalist, Wallis has spent much of his professional life in communications and currently works in public health communications, where his work brings him into contact with some of the complex social issues affecting individuals, families and communities. That experience has become an important influence on his fiction. His stories explore subjects such as isolation, abuse, trauma, grief, inequality and the often unseen struggles taking place behind apparently ordinary lives. Rather than simply writing about these issues, Wallis uses mystery and the supernatural to explore them from unexpected directions. But these are not conventional issue-led stories, nor are they traditional ghost stories. The supernatural often sits quietly beneath an otherwise recognisable world. Characters and readers are encouraged towards one explanation, while clues to something very different are hiding in plain sight.
