The Severed Flame: What Dragons Guard
by Ada Thorne
About the book
A manipulative elven mage, a terrifying dragonborn General, and a disruptive ancient relic enter a fortress... What could possibly go wrong? When the dragon Empire of Irea-Dïr unearths a relic powerful enough to rewrite the laws of magic, Daeira’s orders are simple: infiltrate its most secure stronghold, sabotage every attempt to translate the relic’s inscriptions, keep the Empire too distracted to uncover what it possesses and deceive the ruthless general guarding it. The only complication? General Kaelith Azharyon is no one's fool. Bound to an infamous black dragon and feared across kingdoms, he knows his clever new attendant is lying. Yet instead of exposing her, he draws her closer. And the longer Daeira remains inside his fortress, the harder it becomes to control the game between them. Because as it turns out, deception is a dance for two. And in the Black Pit, nothing is as it seems.

About the author
Ada started by writing for fun in her free time. Then she deluded herself into thinking she could write a book... and here we are! Admittedly, most of the time, she has no idea what she's doing. Maybe that's why so many of her characters are based on her cats instead of real people. Her stories challenge traditional tropes, step outside boundaries and contain flawed characters; the themes revolve around morality, consequences of choice versus intention and finding one's place in a society determined to dictate the terms. Ada is a cat mum of two demons with fluff for brains. She has an odd fondness for strong black coffee, ice cream for breakfast and disrespecting authority.
