I’m Manas Kumar Deb, an author and professional 3D Animation artist with a passion for storytelling, imagination, and creating worlds that extend beyond the boundaries of reality. My professional career in 3D animation has given me the opportunity to work with stories rooted in different cultures and creative traditions from around the world. My work has included The Little Prince, rooted in the French literary tradition and produced as an international French-led production; The Jungle Book, drawing from the Indian literary and cultural setting and produced as an India-Germany-France collaboration; Netflix’s Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, an American animated series; LEGO DREAMZzz, originating from Denmark through the LEGO creative universe; Little Nicholas (Le Petit Nicolas), from France; Disney+’s Eureka!, an American-Irish production; Marnie’s World, an international production involving Germany, Belgium, the Czech Republic and India; and Duda & Dada, an Indian-South Korean animated production. Working with stories influenced by such different cultures has had a profound effect on the way I think about creativity. It has allowed me to observe how characters, humour, emotions, visual language, mythology, and storytelling traditions can differ from one culture to another while still connecting with audiences universally. My years in animation have also shaped the way I approach my own writing. I naturally think in terms of characters, environments, atmosphere, visual details, and entire worlds—not simply words on a page. My novel The Darkness Between Us explores psychological horror, supernatural mystery, suspense, and the complicated nature of human relationships. My poetry eBook रा’श - मोहब्बत के बिखरे हुए जज़्बात explores a more intimate side of my writing, touching upon love, longing, heartbreak, and the emotions surrounding an incomplete relationship. I’m also currently working on The Legend of Prak, an ambitious science-fiction project set in an original universe of distant planets, civilizations, extraordinary characters, science, mythology, and adventure. Although my work moves across animation, poetry, psychological horror, and science fiction, the underlying fascination remains the same: human emotion and the limitless possibilities of imagination. For me, storytelling is not simply about telling people what happens. It is about creating something they can see, feel, imagine, and remember.
